Torre dos Clerigos and Lello bookshop

lello1The Torre dos Clérigos and the nearby Lello bookshop (see above) are two of the most emblemmatic symbols of Porto

Right in the heart of the city and close to inlingua no visit to Porto is complete without a climb to the top of the Torre dos Clérigos and a browse (and a coffee?) in the Lello bookshop - voted by the English national press as the most beautiful custom built bookshop in the world.

a drink in the Ribeira

caf ribeira1The Portuguese love to sit and chat in cafés. The Ribeira district in Porto, just next to the river, is the perfect place to do just that.

And your Portugese teacher will be with you to make sure that you and your colleagues do it in Portuguese!  Portuguese coffee is great - and there are all sorts of teas and soft drinks on offer. But a beer or a glass of wine might help you speak more fluently!

Dinner in a typical restaurant

TABLE CLOTH1Speak Portuguese and enjoy the delights of Portuguese cuisine

Inevitably, one of the highlights of the week is having lunch or dinner with colleagues from your class. The Portuguese are justifiably proud of their world famous cuisine. The variety and quality is amazing - as is the good value.  Your teacher will be there too to make sure everyone is speaking in Portuguese!

Tram ride in Porto

Tram1

A tram ride through town is a great way to see the city and experience the best of Porto

Starting with a visit to the Porto tram museum, this excursion ends with a tram ride through the town. A unique experience. With your teacher on hand you will be able to practice your Portuguese at the same time.

A tour of the Casa da Música

casaaSee behind the scenes at the Casa da Musica

Designed by the Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas and inauguratred in 2005, the Casa da Musica is considered one of the most important concert halls built in the last 100 years.  Home to the Porto symphony orchestra, as well as the Barroque orchestra and Remix Ensemble it hosts a rich variety of musical events ranging from opera to jazz and club-mix dances. The tour offers a fascinating insight into both the design of this cutting edge building as well as it day to day life.
